Minecraft Progression and Discovery Guides

Minecraft doesn't tell you what to do next. These guides cover the moments where most players get stuck: finding rare resources, locating structures, and beating the game's biggest challenges. Each guide pairs with Sidekick AI's real-time voice tips so you can keep playing while you learn.

What your AI companion actually says in Minecraft

Minecraft is open-ended in a way that confuses most new players and bores some veterans. Sidekick's coaching is tuned to the moments where the open-endedness collapses into a goal — finding diamonds, surviving the Nether, beating the Wither, reaching the End.

Cave at Y=-54:“Strip-mine east — you crossed the diamond layer two blocks back.” The companion reads your coordinates and the surrounding biome markers.

First Nether trip:“Place an obsidian block over your portal — you'll need it as a landmark on the way back.” The single most useful pre-Nether tip, before you lose your portal.

Stronghold search:“Your Eye of Ender flew west — keep throwing every 200 blocks until it goes down.” Sidekick reads the eye trajectory.

End Dragon, perch attack:“Bed on the bedrock pillar — wait for her landing, hit and run.” The respawn-anchor strategy is rarely intuitive on first kill.

Five things vision AI notices in Minecraft

  • Y coordinate and biome. The companion knows when you're in the diamond layer, when you're standing on bedrock, when you've crossed into a Deep Dark.
  • Inventory state.Wood count, iron count, food bar, water bucket, ender pearls — vision AI tracks what you have and warns when you're about to commit to something without it.
  • Mob silhouettes. Creeper at the edge of render distance, Enderman in your eyeline, Skeleton archer sniping — the companion calls them before you spot them.
  • Light level around you. Mobs spawn in dark spots. Sidekick warns when your base or a tunnel has dark corners that will start spawning things at night.
  • Crafting and brewing state. If you have the ingredients for the next strategic item — a brewing stand, a beacon, an Eye of Ender — the companion flags it.

Where Sidekick fits in your Minecraft run

Minecraft is the game most people play with a YouTube tutorial on a second screen. Sidekick replaces that. The companion is most useful for the progression milestones — first Nether trip, finding diamonds, locating a stronghold, beating the Wither, finishing the dragon — where the alt-tab tax adds up. For creative-mode building, the companion is mostly quiet.

What Sidekick will not do

Sidekick won't generate complex redstone schematics for you, won't auto-route a perfect mining pattern, won't spoiler your first End trip. For deep redstone tutorials, mod-specific recipes, and creative builds, the Minecraft wiki and YouTube remain essential. Sidekick is the layer for in-the-moment play.
