What your AI companion actually says in Lethal Company
Lethal Company is brutal solo because the game assumes a crew — someone watching the ship while you scrap, someone calling out monsters from the terminal. Sidekick takes that role.
Bracken corner-of-eye:“Bracken behind you — don't look directly at it.” The single most important call in the game, in voice, before the snap.
Coil-Head room:“Coil-Head in the doorway — keep your camera on it, back out.” The companion tracks the line-of-sight rule that keeps you alive.
Quota math:“You have 320 credits, quota is 410, two days left — push for one more run on Vow.” Sidekick reads the terminal and tracks your run economics.
Eyeless Dog outside:“Dog within thirty meters — drop the scrap and crouch-walk to the ship.” Sound is the game's warning system; the companion is listening too.
Five things vision AI notices in Lethal Company
- Monster silhouettes on screen. Bracken, Thumper, Coil-Head — distinct shapes the companion identifies before you process them consciously.
- Scrap value in your hands.Vision AI reads the scrap-weight HUD and helps you decide what to drop when you're overloaded.
- Ship door state. The hangar door has open, closing, and closed states. Sidekick warns about timing the return run.
- Quota and day count. The terminal numbers drive every run decision; the companion keeps them in your head without you opening the screen.
- Light state.Flashlight battery, glowstick range, helmet light — the companion notices when you're about to be in the dark.
Where Sidekick fits in your Lethal Company runs
The product is at its best in solo runs and undermanned crews. With a full four-player squad, you already have humans calling monsters. Solo or two-player, Sidekick fills in the missing voices on comms — not as a replacement for a real crew, but as the difference between “I can't play this alone” and “I'll do a Vow run before bed.”
What Sidekick will not do
Sidekick won't cheat the game — there's no monster wallhack, no automatic loot routing, no scrap valuation precomputed. The companion sees what you see, reads what you read, and reacts in voice. For mod info and deep-dive monster tables, the Lethal Company wiki is the right resource.
Three steps to your Lethal Company AI companion
- Wishlist or install the Steam demo. Runs through Steam with no separate signup.
- Run Lethal Company and Sidekick together. The companion window can stay on your second monitor.
- Try a solo Vow or Offense run. The runs you quit on alone because the silence got to you.
